Teaching and working in schools can be deeply rewarding, but it also brings significant physical and emotional demands. Long hours, constant decision-making and the responsibility of supporting pupils can lead to stress, fatigue and physical tension.
These sessions offer a practical opportunity for staff to pause, release tension and reconnect with their own wellbeing.
Sessions combine gentle movement, breathing practices and guided relaxation, helping staff feel calmer, more comfortable in their bodies and better able to manage the pressures of busy school terms.
Sessions are flexible and designed to fit easily within the school day or just beyond it, whether as part of an INSET programme, a staff meeting wellbeing slot, or after-school support.
Most schools choose to run regular sessions after the school day or as part of existing staff meetings.
Sessions can be delivered onsite at your school or online and adapted to suit your timetable, staff needs and available space.
INSET Day Wellbeing Workshops
60–90 minute sessions offering staff space to pause, move and reset within the school day.
Staff Meeting Wellbeing Sessions
Short 20–30 minute sessions that can be incorporated into staff meetings or twilight training sessions.
Weekly Staff Wellbeing Classes
Regular sessions, typically delivered after the school day or at lunchtime, supporting ongoing staff wellbeing.
Sessions are welcoming and suitable for complete beginners, with options offered throughout so everyone can take part at a level that feels comfortable.
They can be delivered as:
• Chair-based sessions – ideal for staff rooms or classrooms
• Mat-based sessions – suitable for halls or larger spaces
• Hybrid sessions (chair and mat together) – allowing staff to choose the level of support that suits them
• Online sessions via Zoom – ideal for shorter sessions or after-school access
Practices focus on releasing tension in the neck, shoulders and back, calming the nervous system and helping staff feel more at ease in their bodies.
I have previously delivered staff wellbeing sessions for:
• Old Basing Infants School
• Great Binfields Primary School
During the Covid lockdown period I also delivered weekly wellbeing sessions for staff at Costello School.
Alongside this work, I have been involved in local schools as:
• Parent Governor – St Mary’s Junior School
• Exam Invigilator – Costello School
This experience has given me a good understanding of the pace and pressures of school life, and how to offer sessions that are both supportive and practical.
Sessions typically include:
• gentle movement to release physical tension
• breathing practices to help regulate stress
• posture and mobility support
• guided relaxation
• simple techniques staff can use during the school day
The aim is to provide a calm and supportive space for staff to recharge, while offering practical tools that can be used throughout the school day.
I am based in Basingstoke .
• INSET workshops and one-off sessions – delivered in person across Hampshire and surrounding areas
• Ongoing in-person sessions – typically within a 20-minute travel radius of Basingstoke, usually scheduled after the school day
• Online sessions via Zoom – available to schools anywhere, including shorter after-school wellbeing sessions
If you are unsure what might work best for your school, I would be very happy to discuss options.
If you would like to explore wellbeing sessions for your staff, I would be very happy to have a conversation about what might work best for your school.
